The story of Gallery 187
The seed for Gallery 187 came about when local art lover, Kathleen McNeil, noticed the vibrant and broad talent that her friends and neighbors were able to put on display at the community Arts and Crafts Fair. With such a variety of artisans and breadth of skill, Kathleen felt it was a waste that there was such a limited amount of opportunities for local artists to sell and display their work locally throughout the year, simply due to the size of sweet little Utopia. Thus, the idea for Gallery 187 was hatched- a place were community artisans could display and consign their work year round!
What started out as a daydream has grown to feature over 30 local artists, special gallery nights and a connection with community events and opportunities to take part in art!
